The first collection of the 2026
The 2026 collection marks the beginning of my journey into handcrafted teapots made specifically for gongfu tea. Every teapot is thrown individually on the wheel, finished by hand and created as a unique piece rather than part of a series. While they share a common design language, no two are ever the same.
The forms are intentionally quiet and restrained. I look for balance rather than perfection, allowing the character of the clay and the traces of the making process to remain visible. These teapots are meant to become companions for daily tea sessions—objects that gradually reveal their beauty through use.
Each piece is wood fired over several days in an anagama kiln. During the firing, flame, ash and time become co-authors of every vessel. Fine ash carried through the kiln settles naturally onto the surface, where it melts into subtle deposits of natural ash glaze. The movement of the fire leaves gentle transitions of colour and texture that cannot be designed or repeated. Every firing is an unrepeatable dialogue between clay, wood, fire and chance.
The teapots are made from high-fired stoneware and are left unglazed inside, allowing the natural qualities of the clay to interact gently with the tea over time. Every lid is individually fitted to its body, every spout shaped for a smooth and controlled pour, and every handle refined through repeated adjustments until the teapot feels balanced in the hand.
This first collection represents the foundation of my future work. It is a record of countless hours spent at the wheel, beside the kiln and around the fire. More than finished objects, these teapots carry the memory of the landscape, the materials and the long firing that brought them to life.
I hope they become part of many quiet moments shared over tea.

Během vypalu drevem dřevo není jen prostředek k dosažení vysoké teploty. Hořící dřevo používám jako malíř používá barvu. Plameny jsou pak štětcem který maluje na konvičky jako na platno z hlíny. Nahodilost a nedostatecné kontrola procesu děla z každé konvicky objekt který vyprávý příběh. pribeh o rukách a hlíně o dřevu a ohni o čaji a lásce.
na začátku příběhu je hlína. tu si sám připravuji z lokálních materiál. Nejde mi jen o to jak hlána reaguje s plamenem ale i o to jak hlína reaguje s čajem.

Během nakládání pece přřipravuji jakoby skicu konečného obrazu. Tím jak a kde komvicka stojí mohu určit cestu plamenu a popelu a ovlivnit jak bude vysledný obraz vypadat.
